NOT FOUND: westside prep.jpgState Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson announced that Twin Rivers Westside Preparatory Charter School has been selected as a 2011 Title 1 Academic Achievement Award School.

“These schools have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the education of their students and have achieved impressive results,” said Torlakson. “I congratulate all those who put forth the extra eff ort that resulted in this prestigious award - school administrators, staff , teachers, parents, and, of course, the students themselves.”

“Westside Preparatory Charter is an example of what can happen when families and schools work together.” Said Twin Rivers Deputy Superintendent Dr. Ziggy Robeson, who oversees the program. “Families came together to create this program of high standards, clear expectations, and family involvement. Th e success is shared by everyone involved with the schools.”

6,000 California schools participate in the Title 1 program. Westside Prep is among fi ve Sacramento County schools who qualified. Westside Prep serves 7th and 8th grade students at three locations: Eastside Campus at Hillsdale Elementary in North Highlands; Frontier Campus at Frontier Elementary in Foothill Farms and Westside Campus at Westside Elementary in Rio Linda.
