Twin Rivers Adult School is committed to providing the community with opportunities for individuals from diverse populations to achieve their personal, educational and vocational goals and to become more responsible and productive members of society. To do that, Twin Rivers Adult School has added to their already impressive list of programs and classes that they are offering, and they are receiving an awesome response. People that have lost their jobs or had their hours cut have been able to find hope again by enrolling in educational programs that offer them complete training in areas that are still thriving even in today’s economy.

Marie Alfuso is one of those people. After the elimination of her position as an Administrative Assistant, Marie decided to improve her computer skills before looking for a new job. While enrolled in Microsoft Office classes at Twin Rivers Adult School, she was intrigued by their Small Business Entrepreneur Program. Her goal was to learn as much as she could to make herself more employable. Quickbooks® and accounting were among the things she wanted to add to her resume. “What I experienced was an opportunity to create and operate a business from start to finish: business plan, daily operations, marketing and promotion”, Marie stated. During that hands-on class, Marie began to think more and more about starting her own business as a “Virtual Assistant”. (A Virtual Assistant (VA) is a highly-trained, independent entrepreneur who provides a myriad of business support services virtually via the phone, fax and internet-based technology to support and meet the growing needs of business worldwide.) Marie quickly realized that this was just the opportunity she had been looking for, and she now had the skills, training and experience needed to succeed. Ms. Alfuso’s business as a VA is just getting started, but she is confident that she has all the tools necessary to be outstanding in her field. “I am very thankful for the classes I have taken and look forward to future learning opportunities at Twin Rivers Adult School”, she stated.

Twin Rivers Adult School is paving the way for many others to become successful in their chosen career paths. Another such person is Evgeny Samorokov. He came to the USA about one year ago to expand his job opportunities and to have a better social environment to raise his children – he and his wife have a new baby. Evgeny enrolled in the Computer Service and Repair Program at Twin Rivers Adult School which he completed in just one short semester, and now job placement is eminent for him. He’s living the American dream.
