Parks Make Life Better! In a recent study facilitated by the California Parks and Recreation Society (CPRS), researchers discovered that approximately 98% of California residents visited a park within the last year. Of that percentage, 68% visit at least monthly. This is wonderful information for our community and the Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Park District as the focus has really been about creating community through facilitating pleasant parks for use.

With that said, according to a current overview of the past year’s budget, the Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Park District is proud to announce its receivership of over $700,000 for park improvements and development. As such, there have been significant strives within the RLE Recreation and Park District to improve the quality of life for our residents. A main objective has been to increase the standard of each park, focusing on playgrounds, snack bar amenities, community garden and appealing turf.

The District anticipates the completion the following projects by March 2011.

 Community Butterfly Garden
 Additional Picnic Area
 Additional Playground Equipment
 Skate Park
Westside Park:
 Installation of NEW Field lighting
 Address current field issues
