The Rio Linda Elverta Lions Club and Twin Rivers Police Department are hosting a Mutt Strut dog walk to raise money to get the Twin Rivers Police Department their very own Police Dog. Bart, a 2-year old trained Czechoslovakian Shepherd dog, will help us ensure safe and drug free campuses and recreation areas. One of our students said: "The nice thing about having this dog is that they can identify the backpacks with drugs and leave mine alone. This makes me feel respected and secure." Bart can also do search and rescue for missing children (or adults). Let's hope we never have to put his skills to use, but if we do, he'll be there to help.

You can be a part of this effort by signing up for the Mutt Strut. The $20 registration fee can be sent to the Rio Linda Lions Club P.O. Box 331 Rio Linda, CA 95673. Please include your address so we can send you the registration form and waiver. Early registration (by September 13th) will get you a T-shirt; otherwise you can buy one at the event.
