Beginning on Monday, September 13th the Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Park District will be hosting a 2-week course for the Hunter’s Safety Certification. The class will feature information regarding subjects such as: weapon safety, hunting rules and regulations and certification. This certification is a State requirement in order to obtain a hunting license in California. Instructor Joe Brewer will focus on basic and intermediate information for both parents and children interested in hunting. The course will conclude on Saturday, September 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a brief field orientation.
The fee is $7.00 per participant and the cost includes informational material and certification. Participants must attend entire session of classes completing both field and written testing with a minimum score of 80%. Class dates are as follows; 9/13, 9/15, 9/16, 9/20, 9/22, 9/23 & 9/25.
Recommended ages are 10 years of age and up. Duration of each weekly class is from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, with the exception of the final day of class, which is from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 25th.
