Ever had the desire to lend a helping hand, but unsure about how to let people know what you can do for them? There is now a solution that is just a few mouse clicks away. On Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010, a new website was launched as part of the WE Movement that will allow people that want to help to connect with people that need help and vice versa. This can be on a large, professional scale like health care providers down to just an individual who has a few hours a week to mow lawns, watch children, or fix cars. The web site is called Help4U.com. It is provided by Ramsell Holding Corporation and is free to everyone. You as an individual can sign up easily by visiting the web site – whether you are the one in need of help or want to provide assistance to others.

The WE Movement is nonpolitical and nonpartisan. Their motto is “Offer what you can. WE will do the rest!” They are making a difference through coordinated care of benefits. They recognize that there is a good portion of our population that is not only in need of health care – both mental and physical programs – but also in need of other goods and services. They also recognize that there are many others like themselves that want to offer help in whatever way they can to those less fortunate than themselves. A recent article that ran in Fortune magazine stated that more than 38 million Americans have incomes below the federal poverty level, and as many as one-third of working Americans do not earn enough to meet their basic economic needs. An estimated $30 billion worth of public benefits go unused each year, often because of confusion over eligibility.
The WE Movement is the brainchild of Ramsell Holding Corporation. They ran a pilot of the program in the city of Oakland, CA where they are based, and have seen a tremendous response. Their goal is to provide much needed services for the underserved in America. They were called in as advisors on the Health Care Reform bill, and as a result walked away with several ideas of how to better help people without having to cut through all of the red tape and bureaucracy of government programs. Their goal is not in any way to replace the existing government agencies or the things they currently have in place, but to enhance them.

Ramsell Holding Corporation was started by Sylester Flowers in 1967. He moved to Oakland and opened what became a chain of pharmacies. When he came here, his mother, Karie, told him to always remember to give back to those that helped him earn his living. He took that advice to heart and the Ramsell Holding Corporation is built on that very foundation that they refer to as “Karie’s Promise”.
The WE Movement needs our help in order for it to be a success. If you are in need of services, visit your local library to get access to the Internet and register at www.help4U.com as a participant. If you have any time as an individual to offer assistance – or are a business that would like to be involved – sign up as a provider or sponsor. They are also looking for people to be WE Champions – a community activist that would like to help coordinate volunteers that search out, identify and enroll providers, recipients and sponsors in their own communities. They have already developed a plan to assist champions in working with mayors, city council members and community relations directors to work within neighborhoods to sign up “those that have” and matching them with “those who do not”.
