NOT FOUND: family concerts.jpgTwo “Concert in the Park” events will be held in the Foothill Farms area -- Saturday, September 11th, at Pioneer Park and Saturday, October 2nd, at Foothill Community Park. Both outdoor celebrations are open to the public and being co-sponsored by Sacramento County Supervisor Susan Peters and the Sunrise Recreation and Park District with corporate support from Mercy San Juan Medical Center and McClellan Business Park.

John Skinner’s Fabulous Band will be the featured entertainment at both venues playing a variety of easy listening music oriented for the entire family.

The September 11th event will be at Pioneer Park, 5100 Verner Avenue, is near Pioneer School, in Old Foothill Farms. The fun begins at 3 p.m. with the concert from 4 to 6 p.m.

The October 2nd celebration will be an encore performance of the Skinner Band at Foothill Community Park, 5510 Diablo Drive, in Foothill Farms. The fun that day begins at 2 p.m. with the music playing from 3 to 5 p.m.

“The Foothill Farms area has a strong sense of community and holds a special place in my heart because it is the part of Sacramento County where I was raised," says Peters. “To assist in maintaining that neighborhood spirit, I am pleased two ‘Concert in the Park’ events will be held this fall that are oriented for the entire family to enjoy along with activities for all generations.”

“Everyone is welcome and the best way to enjoy the day is to bring a picnic, blanket and lawn chairs for a relaxing time in the late afternoon concluding in the evening’s early hours.”
