Twin
Rivers Unified School District and The Effort in North Highlands have
come together to offer a series of unique parenting workshops.
Supported with funding from First 5 Sacramento, the Dare To Be You
workshops provide a new
way of looking at parenting your child 0-5 years old.
The whole family is invited to the workshops that are being held at the Kohler Elementary School cafeteria located at 4004 Bruce Way in North Highlands, CA 95660. In fact, a free family dinner will be provided for families that call to register by the Monday before the workshop date. Free childcare and children’s activities related to workshop topics are also being provided by Child Action, Inc.
Dare To Be You believes that children who are valued for their unique qualities learn to value themselves and are less at risk for problem behaviors. Through these parenting education workshops, you will learn how to give your child a positive world view, to believe in their future, to work toward goals, and to develop a positive self-concept. Workshops will discuss:
Oct 5- Internal Control, Releasing Tension, Stress Card
Oct 12- Developing Communication Skills, Problem-Solving
Oct 19- Levels of Reasoning, Rechecking the Vision
Oct 26- Positive World View, Responsibility
Nov 2- Parent’s Toolbox of Discipline
Dinner is served at 5 p.m. and the workshops are from 5:30pm - 7:00pm. Please call (916) 566-1600 x50410 for more information or to register.
