At any given time you can walk onto an elementary or middle school campus in the Center Unified School District and see boys and girls proudly wearing Jr. Cougar t-shirts, football jerseys and cheer jackets.

What makes the Jr. Cougar program unique is the relationship between the youth organization and the Center District. On Friday, September 2nd, Center High School hosted Jr. Cougar athletes and their families at the annual Jr. Cougar Night at Center High School’s first home football game of the 2011 season. Between the JV and Varsity games Jr. Cougar football players, cheerleaders, coaches and instructors lined up on the track where they were introduced to the awaiting crowd of Cougar fans. During the Varsity game, Jr. Cougar cheerleaders (ages 5-14) cheered alongside CHS cheerleaders. At halftime, the Jr. Cougar cheerleaders and high school cheerleaders performed a combined halftime show that brought the crowd to their feet. Following the halftime spectacular, Jr. Cougar football players and Jr. Cougar cheerleaders teamed with the CHS cheer squad to tunnel the Cougar Football team on their return to the second half of the varsity game.

The Jr. Cougar Board and families are proud to be part of the Center community and grateful for the support of Center High School and the Center Joint Unified School District.
