There are a lot of changes happening at the newly re-designed Foothill Ranch Middle School, including new grade levels, a new dress code, new library media center, new outdoor learning spaces, and a new focus on Project Based Learning.
The middle school now serves 5th through 8th grade students from the local foothill farms neighborhood and the new dress code has students showing up ready to learn. The new library media center and outdoor learning spaces are nearing completion.
The new emphasis on Project Based Learning involves rigorous and relevant standards-focused projects engage students, teach 21st century skills, and demand demonstration of mastery.
Eighth grade students at Foothill Ranch Middle School have been working to launch rockets and reach a target 75 feet away from the launch pad. Family and friends came to the campus and watched in amazement at the results of the student’s hard work. Students also had the opportunity to share about their challenges and successes with the rocket launch project.
