This past month has been both busy and exciting at Center High school for the students and boosters. Although the CUSD had a week off from school, the sports teams were still active and playing games at home. Booster parents volunteered to support the teams by working ticket sales and chain gang. The school also celebrated Homecoming Week! This was truly a special and memorable week as students, faculty, and parents came together and worked towards a common goal of decorating various areas of the school for each of the class’s musical themes. Boosters participated in the judging of the half time class skits and volunteered their services at the gate and on the field for the biggest game of the season. The Homecoming Football game was one of the most exciting games the Center fans have experienced in years with a big win over ranked league rival Bear River!

CHS Boosters are working on various fundraisers as a means to Support Our Students (SOS). We have Cougar Paw air fresheners scented in choices of vanilla or cinnamon now on sale at the booster table at most home sporting events. You can purchase one for $4 or two for $7. Additionally, we will have new booster shirts for sale during the winter sports events. Come by the booster table and introduce yourself, check out some of the items you can purchase to SOS. You can all purchase a birthday message for your Center High student to be displayed on the school marquee for the entire week of their birthday at a cost of $10 and of course we encourage parents to continue to join and sign up to be a member of the boosters ~ cost is $20 for single membership and $30 for a double/family membership. All members receive a free booster T-shirt and Cougar decal.

We also want to thank each of you who came out and supported the fundraiser at Yogurt Time Café during the school break. Special thanks to the owners of Yogurt Time Café for their generosity to the Center Boosters! Mark your calendars for an E-Waste drive on January 14, 2012 and a Crab Feed in February. As always, we encourage you to participate in the Quality of Life/escrip program at the Bel Air, Raleys, and Knob Hill stores. If you need a card, please contact the boosters and we will get one to you.

If you are interested in finding out whom we are and what we do, we encourage alumni, parents and faculty to come to a meeting and join us in planning, volunteering, and voting on how we will help various groups, teams and school activities for the students. Our next meeting is scheduled on November 9 from 7-8 pm in the staff lounge at Center High school. Everyone is welcome to attend!
