Hamburger-Cheese Bake
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 8 ounce cans tomato sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 cups uncooked medium noodles
1 cup cream style cottage cheese
1 8 ounce package cream cheese softened
1/4 cup sour cream
1/3 cup sliced green onion (optional)
1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Preheat oven 350 degrees, In a large skillet, brown meat and chopped onion till onion is tender and meat is done. Stir in tomato sauce, sugar, salt, garlic salt, and pepper. Remove from heat. Meanwhile, cook noodles according to package directions; drain. Combine cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, green onion, and green pepper in seperate bowl.
Spread half the noodles in 11x7x1 1/2 inch baking pain; top with a little of meat sauce. Cover with cheese mixture. Add remaining noodles and meat sauce. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Makes 8 to 10 servings.

Texas Sheet Cake
One of the easiest desserts to make on a pinch, is Grandma's Texas Sheet Cake. And it's really made from scratch!!!
Cake:
2 sticks of real butter
1 cup water
4 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
Icing:
1 stick of real butter
6 tablespoons milk
4 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 pound powdered sugar (confectioners) shifted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, For the cake: combine the butter, water, and cocoa in a saucepan, and bring to a boil. Remove from heat. In a mixing bowl, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, baking soda, and salt. Add the butter mixture all at once, and stir to blend. Whisk the eggs and sour cream together; add to the batter and mix well. Pour the batter into an 18x12x1 inch pan and bake for 20 minutes.
Just before the cake is done, make the icing. Combine butter, milk, and cocoa in large, heavy saucepan and bring to boil. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla, and mix well. Ice the cake while it is still warm, and top with nuts if desired.
