The Center Endowment For Educational Excellence is grateful to all those in our community who came out on March 24th to support our students and district by attending the 2010 Make It Happen fundraiser. We were regaled by an amazing display of talent from across the Center district, including singers and musicians, artists and actors. We had delicious (not to mention gorgeous) cakes and an incredible assortment of silent auction and raffle items that lined an entire wall!!!

As if it wasn’t enough just to have an opportunity to simply enjoy the evening with our friends and neighbors, we also managed to make a tidy profit that goes straight into the Center Endowment for Educational Excellence. The Endowment is a fund created to supplement existing state and local funding sources to provide expanded opportunities for students to delve into the world of art, music, theatre, fitness and languages – all key aspects of a complete education. With the current state of the economy, this Endowment fund will become more and more instrumental in keeping programs alive for our students and maintaining the high level of quality education that Center Joint Unified has always provided for its students.
While the CJUSD is consistently giving students an A+ education, there is still more that can be done to provide even greater benefits to our students. For example, the Endowment would love to provide funding to add a marching band to Center High School’s already amazing music program. Center also already has a wide variety of electives, but we would like to further enrich our offerings so that students would be able to study German, Russian, and Chinese as well as Spanish and French. Some of CJUSD’s elementary schools offer before and after school band, but the Endowment would like to make it possible to offer music instruction within the school day, and would like to add foreign language at the elementary and middle school levels. Center Joint Unified School District has a strong athletic department, but the Endowment is intent on continuing to develop and expand both facilities and offerings for competitive sports, as well as broaden our fitness facilities to promote lifetime habits of wellness for all students.

This Endowment is an on-going fund, and contributions of any size (modest to monstrous) are welcome at any time.
