Lowman, a junior at Foothill High School, beat out three state ranked wrestlers to win the 285-pound division. 89 teams from California, Oregon, and Nevada competed in the January 21-21 event, held at Memorial Auditorium. The competition consisted of 64 brackets, requiring six consecutive wins.
The Tim Brown Memorial, hosted by Foothill High School, is ranked in the top five tournaments in the state and is the second largest in northern California. The tournament is held in honor of Tim Brown, a Foothill graduate who died in the line of duty while serving his country as a Marine.
