NOT FOUND: farm stand.jpgIn the Grow, a program of the Health Education Council in partnership with Seta Head Start and First 5 Sacramento hosted a Community Farm Stand Grand Opening event in May as part of an effort to increase access to affordable, locally grown, fresh fruits and vegetables to families and residents in the surrounding community.
California continues to battle an obesity epidemic and low-income preschool children are more likely to be obese. Community farm stands encourage families to become part of the solution by providing fruits and vegetables for their children and families which can lead to big health improvements.
