A- Short blurb and photo about the Highlands Environmental Academy kids who are going to DC after winning a competition at UC Davis. The photo is the entire group and teachers after the UCD competition in April.

B- Our adult ed program is the first in the country to receive secondary (WASC) certification (release attached)

C -Folks who came out to volunteer at our “Give Back to Highlands Day” Saturday, May 1. The event was organized by the Highlands High School Alumni Association. Current and future students as well as alumni and community came out to paint, plant, and clean. All of these photos begin with “HHS”

D- Our educational foundation fundraiser for the year for Project DREAM on April 17 raised more than in any other previous year- $47,000. I’ve attached three potential photos for you:

1- Twin Rivers Board President Michelle Rivas thanks Project DREAM co-founder Kate Bishop-Hazarian for her work in putting on the event that raised more than $47,000 for classroom grants.

2- Project DREAM co-founders Kate Bishop-Hazarian, Twin Rivers Director of Family and Community Involvement and Susan Welch of Prudential Realty are enjoying the annual fundraiser event.

3- Festival of DREAMs attendee Mary Young is measured for a “wingspan” of raffle tickets by volunteer Tony Hazarian while mom Kathy Young, Twin Rivers Communications Assistant looks on.

E- We held our end of the year Neighborhood Schools Celebration at Highlands on May 6 and honored teachers of the year, classified staff of the year, retirees, and community partners. I’ve attached the list of awardees in case you have room to run them. Call me if you need in another format or would like the Foothill group as well.

F - Cindy Mangan from Regency Park Elementary won the State School Secretary of the Year. Attached is the release and a few photos. In the photo with 3 people, Cindy is center with Principal Michael Reed on the right and Vice Principal Jacqueline DeWitt on the left.
