NOT FOUND: ladies afternoon.jpgOn Saturday, May 1st, New Hope Christian Fellowship hosted their Annual Ladies Afternoon Tea from 2 to 4PM. There were 120 ladies and girls from 5yrs old and up. Each table had a hostess that dressed her table with her own China plates, silverware, water goblets, and tea things. There were 15 unique and beautiful tables. Each table also had a youth girl assigned to carry platters of tea sandwiches, desserts and teapots.

The $10 menu consisted of chilled strawberry soup, strawberry spinach salad with raspberry vinaigrette and candied walnuts, cream scones with devonshire cream and lemon curd, cucumber cream cheese sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches, spinach and mushroom quiche, mini flourless chocolate cakes, marble cheesecake squares, and sugar cookie bouquets in flower pots. Most of the delicious foods were made by the church's youth group with the guidance of an adult.

The theme of this year's tea was "Joy in the Lord" and Kendra Brace, who is the founding pastor's daughter, shared her testimony about holding on to your joy despite your circumstances. Food, fun and fellowship plus a little shopping at Faith's Fabulous Finds were enjoyed by all. The "antique" store was comprised of donated items whose proceeds went to benefit the Sister Discipleship House for Women in Sacramento. In addition, there were four raffle baskets with items and gift certificates that were donated by Trader Joe's, Larkspur Landing Hotels, and Papillon Salon in Roseville. Each group also received a 5x7 photograph from Heather Ann's Photography. Mothers, daughters and grandaughters took the oppurtunity to have a three generation portrait taken of the beautiful occasion.
