Having great curb appeal is one of the most important things you can do to sell your home. It’s the first impression buyers have when viewing your home. In some cases buyers will pass up a home that isn’t attractive and appealing from the outside.
These are just a few things you can do to improve the exterior look of your home & insure that buyers will want to see the interior as well.
A well maintained landscape is essential to a good looking home. Groomed lawns, healthy foliage and color are always an eye catcher. They tell people that the home is well cared for and maintained. Be sure to pull any weeds, trim back anything that is ‘overgrown’ & fertilize to enhance the look of greenery and annuals. Pull anything that doesn’t look attractive and plant something that is. Annuals are always a quick and inexpensive way to enhance a flower bed.
Be sure to clean your windows and screens as well the front door and entryway. Paint the door and trim a different color or touch them up to give them a ‘fresh’ look. You may want to consider replacing the front door hardware to also improve its appearance. Place a “welcome” mat at front door as well. It tells people that you’re open to visitors.
Be sure your exterior has a clean look to it. Power wash any dirt or debris off the stucco or siding. Don’t forget the cobwebs.
Be sure that your sidewalks and driveway are free of stains and cracks. Ask a hardware store expert for a recommended product to help you with the projects.
Finish off the look with outside lighting. Place solar lighting along the driveway or pathways and in flowerbeds. They are easy to install and can be bought at reasonable prices.
Attractive curb appeal will also attract those buyers who are just driving thru the neighborhood. All of these little changes will help to increase your traffic and increase the possibility of selling your home faster.
