Center High School has been busy the first half of the school year and now the parents, students, and faculty are ready to make 2012 the best year yet! The Boosters have many fundraisers and events planned and are seeking local community members and businesses to get involved and help us to SOS… North Sacramento community how can you help the Cougar Boosters and Support Our Students (SOS)? It’s easy! Drop off your unwanted E-waste at Center High on Saturday January 14 from 9 am- 1 pm! Rain or shine, we will be in the school parking lot unloading your vehicle of all items. We accept in working or non-working condition: TVs, computers/hard drives/laptops, printers, cameras, small appliances, stereos, DVDs, wire/cable, cell phones, etc. This is a great opportunity for you to clean out your closets and garages to make room for all of the new Christmas gifts your family has received.
We also have tickets on sale now for the annual BOOSTER CRAB FEED scheduled on February 25 from 6pm until midnight at the VFW Hall in Antelope. This fundraiser will include all you can eat crab and spaghetti, no host bar, raffle prizes, as well as, a silent auction, and this year we will be entertained by a live band! Tickets are on sale for $40, with “will call” available, however, no tickets will be sold at the door. Reserved seating is also available. Please contact Booster Vice President Rick Davis at (916)-804-5656 for info or to purchase tickets. This should be a great event and an excellent way to meet other parents and community members of the Antelope/North Sac area.
As basketball league play gets under way in January, we will continue our “Make Change” fundraiser honoring Brandon Baker and the Brandon Baker Memorial Scholarship fund. All donations will go directly into this fund and be given back to graduating senior scholar athletes who can apply as a candidate for this scholarship in the spring. Donations will be accepted at all basketball home games at the snack bar, as well as at the Cougar Booster table.
If you are interested in volunteering at any of these upcoming fundraisers, or would like to attend a Booster meeting, please come to our next meeting scheduled January 11 from 7-8pm in the Teacher’s Lounge at CHS.
