Center Joint Unified School District is pleased to announce Spinelli Elementary School was recently named a recipient of the “Star School” award by California Business for Education Excellence (CBEE). In addition, the Antelope school has been named to the 2009 Honor Roll for high-performing schools. Spinelli is one of just 395 schools recognized from more than 9,000 public schools.
CBEE uses rigorous criteria in school selection, including individual school and student subgroup performance data, based on annual California Standards Tests. CBEE reports that “after reviewing student achievement data for every public school in California, Spinelli stood well above the rest in getting its students to grade level proficiency”.
Principal, Kristin Schmieder, congratulated the school staff, students and parents for their continued efforts toward making possible such a high level of success for every child.
