February is Women’s Heart Health Month. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women in the USA. The GFWC Antelope –North Women’s Club will be wearing red on National Wear Red Day, which is coming Feb. 5, 2010. Consider wearing red at your workplace, with your faith-based organization, at your community center, as you shop around town or even in your own home. Speak up because you can make a difference. Inspire your friends, neighbors, coworkers and family members to show their support for the fight against heart disease! Check out the www.goredforwomen website. You can learn more about how you can celebrate “Wear Red Day”. Join us in wearing red on February 5!
The February meeting of the GFWC Antelope-North County Women’s Club will be held at a member’s home because we are making “Emergency Buddy Bears”. These are simply little teddy bears that will be given to first responders to hand out to children during emergencies. The bears are easy to sew and stuff but they will mean so much to a child in a time of crisis. If you have material or stuffing you would like to donate or you would like to help make these bears contact Dori at 916-332-7133.
We have two great projects for February, if this seems like something you would like to be a part of, e-mail us at CFWCantelope@comcast.net. Check out our face book page at GFWC Antelope-North County Women’s Club or contact Dori at 332-7133. See you there!
