Leadership of the Board of Supervisors changed hands Tuesday with the election of Supervisor Roger Dickinson to be the Chair for 2010. Dickinson represents District One. This will be his fourth time to serve as Chair.
“It’s always an honor to be selected by my colleagues to chair the Board,” stated Dickinson. “I am looking forward to this year, continuing to work on the priorities of assisting those most in need in our communities. I anticipate working closely with my colleagues to face the challenges of 2010.”
Dickinson was elected to the Board of Supervisors during a special election in January 1994 and has been re-elected four times. This will be his last term as he has announced his candidacy for the California State Assembly representing District Nine.
Supervisor Roberta MacGlashan, District Four, was elected Vice Chair for this year. For more information about the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors, including meeting schedules, go to www.bos.saccounty.net.
