Saturday, February 6, 2010 --- Sacramento Museum Day --- Twenty-five greater Sacramento area museums will be offering free admission during the Annual Sacramento Museum Day presented by the Sacramento Association of Museums and proudly supported by Umpqua Banks. Sacramento Museum Day takes place Saturday, February 6, 2010, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (all participating museums close at 5 p.m.). Free shuttle buses will serve many of the participating museums (all routes begin/end/transfer at the California Museum for History, Women and the Arts, which can be accessed via Regional Transit Light Rail – Archives Plaza station). Museum Day, a Sacramento cultural tradition, invites all members of the community to experience the Capital City’s incredible wealth of art, history, science and wildlife at numerous participating museums AT NO COST. February 20, 2010, 9:00 am – 1:30pm --- Alternative Fuels Workshop --- Taught by American River College instructor, Arthur Blank, this workshop will give students insight into the world of alternative fuels. This workshop is part of the California Automobile Museum’s new Going Green Workshop Series, which includes workshops on biodiesel, fuel cells, and electric cars. The cost for Museum members is $35 per class or $30 if you take all four classes in the Going Green Workshop Series. For nonmembers it is $40 per class or $35 if you take all four classes in the Going Green Workshop series. Cost includes lunch.
