Center Preschool looks like your typical preschool. Bright colors and alphabets are splashed on every surface. Terrariums and aquariums teem with creepy-crawlies to study. Happy children sing nursery rhymes and make finger-paint masterpieces. But if you spend a little time in the classroom, you start to realize that this preschool has something… More.
Adult family members, anyone from Mom or Dad to Auntie or Grandpa, are teaching lessons alongside the teachers (Pat Stayton and Mary Franklin, who between them have over 50 years’ experience in the field). The children are practicing their letters, not with paper and pencil but with shaving cream smeared on the table. Center Preschool is also an inclusion school; this means that some of the students need some extra help. Some have very mild issues with speech; others are physically dependent on other people. But all of the students get the same experience; they learn the same lessons alongside each other. I can’t think of a better way to teach my children compassion and acceptance of all people, regardless of differences!
I have three sons myself, and my second son is happily following in his big brother’s footsteps at Center Preschool. The choice was clear for me; my oldest son got a wonderful start at Center, reading before his fourth birthday and at 2nd grade, still at the top of his class, thirsty for more knowledge. Everything that makes Center Preschool different is what also makes it a much better choice. Parent participation means that I am able to experience preschool with my children, as well as offsetting the cost and making it one of the most affordable Preschools in the area. I get to watch them learn, and I have a hand in teaching them myself. The parenting classes we attend once a month have been a huge help, too. I’ve learned so much about how I can raise happy, respectful and confident children.
I wish I could list all of the fun things they do at Center Preschool (the field trips! the family nights!), but I think the fact that I’m already sending my second son, and next year will send my third, speaks for itself. Don’t take my word for it; come see for yourself what makes us stand out! Center Preschool in Antelope is always enrolling.
