The GFWC Antelope North County Women’s Club invites everyone to bring their holiday gifts to be wrapped for free on December 12, Saturday at the Umpqua Bank on Walerga Road. Umpqua Bank has hosted this event every holiday season for the last four years. The Umpqua Bank supplies the gift wrap and ribbon; we supply the woman & man power and you get your gifts wrapped with a minimum of hassles. The event starts at 10 am and ends at 2pm. So get all your holiday shopping done by December 12th and bring the presents to us and have them gift wrapped. See you there!
The money we make from our fund raising efforts goes to fund our projects like the October Foster Kids Seminar and our main project, Operation Top Knot. This is the project that helps our military families with a spouse deployed overseas and who are having a baby. Each month we get a list of families having a baby that month, we send the families a beautiful baby quilt hand-made by the members of the local Antelope Quilter’s Guild. We are so lucky to have partnered with these wonderful quilters. The members of our club add coupons for baby products, a welcome to the world baby card and bibs, wash clothes and other small items to the beautiful quilts and we send these off each month. We have done as many as 18 babies in a month with our most favorite gift of 4 quilts and clothes to a young mother having quadruplets! Can you imagine having 4 babies with your husband deployed overseas? I can’t.

We will not have a meeting in December because of the Umpqua Bank wrapping, but stop by the Bank on December 12 between 10 and 2 to learn more about our group.
