Mercy Foundation will host its sixth annual Gals on the Green, Sacramento’s only all-women charity golf tournament, on October 17 at Catta Verdera Country Club in Lincoln, Calif.  Proceeds will benefit breast cancer treatment, technological advances, education and prevention services for women throughout greater Sacramento.

The tournament will feature a helicopter golf ball drop, contests, silent auction, fun-filled sponsor stations at holes, dinner and live auction. Registration begins at 10 a.m.

The individual golfer fee is $250; foursome is $1,000. Sponsorships, ranging from $1,500 to $25,000, are available with many recognition benefits. Numbered golf balls dropped by helicopter onto the eighteenth hole can be purchased for $25 each or five for $100. Guaranteed cash prizes for the three balls closest to the hole, with a chance to win a grand prize of up to $10,000. You do not have to be present to win.

Funds from previous tournaments provided free mammograms, ultrasounds and biopsies to more than 300 under- and uninsured women patients at Mercy Clinics. This year’s proceeds will enable Mercy to expand these services to other community clinics, increase awareness, invest in life-saving technologies and treatment options and provide educational materials to aid in early detection.
