Two “Concert in the Park” events will be held in the Foothill Farms area on Saturday, September 12, at Pioneer Park and on Saturday, October 3, at Foothill Community Park. Both outdoor celebrations are open to the public and are being co-sponsored by Sacramento County Supervisor Susan Peters and the Sunrise Recreation and Park District, with corporate support from Mercy San Juan Medical Center and McClellan Business Park. John Skinner’s Fabulous Band will be the featured entertainment at both venues, playing a variety of easy listening music geared towards the entire family.
The September 12 event will be at Pioneer Park, 5100 Verner Avenue, which is near Pioneer School in Old Foothill Farms. The fun begins at 3:00pm with the concert from 4:00-6:00pm.
The October 3 celebration will be Foothill Community Park, 5510 Diablo Drive in Foothill Farms. The fun that day begins at 2:00pm with the music playing from 3:00-5:00pm.
“The Foothill Farms area has a strong sense of community and holds a special place in my heart because it is the part of Sacramento County where I was raised, “says Peters. “To assist in maintaining that neighborhood spirit, I am pleased that two ‘Concert in the Park’ events will be held this fall that are oriented for the entire family to enjoy, along with activities for all generations.” Everyone is welcome and the best way to enjoy the day is to bring a picnic, blanket and lawn chairs for a relaxing time in the late afternoon and concluding in the evening’s early hours. Both events will feature children’s activities, information booths and refreshments for sale.
