Come and be a part of the 7th Annual North Highlands Jubilee on Saturday, October 18, 2008 from 11am-3pm at the North Highlands Community Center located at 6040 Watt Avenue. This event is hosted by Sacramento County Supervisor, Roger Dickinson and will bring together the greater North Highlands community to celebrate the area’s rich diversity.
Last year’s Jubilee was full of new and exciting additions. For the first time we held the event at the North Highlands community center and accommodated over 100 booths, performances from the community, had a professional band on our concert stage and over 3,000 residents in attendance. Jubilee participants enjoyed the fun and excitement of a live helicopter landing at the festival—also a Jubilee first.
The Festival showcases all that North Highlands has to offer: from local eateries and businesses, a variety of performance groups featured on two separate stages, to fun activities for children including carnival games and bounce houses.
As you may know, the North Highlands Birth and Beyond started the Jubilee in 2002 as a way for the community to get information about health care and other social services provided in North Highlands. Attendance grew to over 2,000 people in 2006 and over the years, the Jubilee has expanded to truly become a celebration of the diversity of everything this community has to offer. With such variety and great features of the community, this is certainly an extravaganza that everyone can enjoy. There is no doubt that this year’s North Highlands Jubilee will be an even greater success.
