The Aerospace Museum of California will be dedicating their newest exhibit, “United States Coast Guard: America’s Maritime Guardian” with a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Coast Guard Air Station Sacramento. This comes in time for the changing of the guard and just days after National Coast Guard Day, annually celebrated on August 4th. Coast guard rescue aircraft and boats as well as aviation art will be on display in the new permanent exhibit featuring rescue swimmers and interactive screens. Costs to attend are included with museum admission – This event is open to the public.

The U.S. Coast Guard started as the Revenue Cutter Service back on August 4, 1790! In 1915 the organization formally named the U.S. Coast Guard began. The Coast Guard works to protect the US as part of homeland security efforts, in a number of duties including environmental protection, law enforcement and search and rescue. More than 40,000 men and women who serve in the smallest branch of the military and oldest continuing sea going service live by they’re motto: “Always Ready.”
