The GFWC Antelope-North County Women’s Club would like to invite everyone to our October 24th Breast Cancer/Domestic Violence Awareness Workshop at the Antelope-North Highlands Library at 1:30pm. We will have a guest speaker on Breast Cancer and continue our collecting for the Harmony House, The Citrus Heights domestic Violence Shelter for women, men and children who are victims of violence at home or by a partner. This is our 2nd annual event for the Harmony House.

The Harmony House is the closest shelter to us in the Antelope, North Highlands and Elverta area. It is a small shelter but it serves the north area well. The Shelter needs all types of baby items such as diapers, wipes, clothes, new or gently used blankets and food. In our area, the local Curves on Walerga Road will be collecting items until October 23rd. Please bring any donation either to the Curves or with you when you attend the meeting at the Library, on October 24th.

You will learn more about breast cancer and help our local Shelter. This year the need is especially great. We are tying together two of the diseases that affect women and families together because the chances are you know women with breast cancer and a family with an abuser in the family. We all wish we could help and by becoming more aware of breast cancer and bringing a small item or two for Harmony House, you are a part of the solution. Our women’s club is not the only answer but it is an answer. So come and be a part of something very special, part of the cure. Every journey starts with one step and by putting together a lot of women working together we hope to someday stamp out breast cancer and domestic violence. Be a part of the GFWC Antelope- North County Women’s Club.

We would love to meet you and talk with you at our meeting on October 24th at the Library at 1:30 pm. Check us out on face book at GFWC Antelope-North County Women page, at www.cfwc.org and www.gfwc.org or e-mail us at antelopeCFWC@comcast.net or simply phone Dori at 332-7133.
