(The Day After Thanksgiving - families are encouraged to donate canned goods in lieu of admission fees)

Thursday, December 24 from 10AM to 2PM
(Christmas Eve)

FREE! Is there a more welcomed word to be heard in these tough economic times? The Holidays are fast approaching, even as belts are being un-seasonably tightened. Everyone could use a little break to let off some steam--and help make ends meet. Sacramento's own Oasis of Enchantment understands the pressures outside its magical perimeter and wants to give a little back to the community that has supported it through a glorious 50th Anniversary celebration in 2009. So, weather permitting, Fairytale Town will be opening Humpty Dumpty's Gate for two days of Free Admission to families. (Adults must be accompanied by children--and vice' versa.)

Fairytale Town gives thanks to the Sacramento community by offering Free Admission to the public on Friday, November 27, 2009 (the day after Thanksgiving) from 10AM to 4PM. This year Fairytale Town is encouraging families to bring canned and packaged goods for the the Sacramento Food Bank.

As a special Winter Holiday Gift, Free Admission is offered again on Thursday, December 24, 2009 (Christmas Eve) from 10AM to 2PM. It's a great way to let children run off some steam on what, for many, is the longest day of the year.

All the colorful retro-attractions are still here (though they may seem a little smaller than your last visit) and all the adorable Nursery Rhyme animals are waiting to be admired, so come and spend a few leisurely hours in the crisp winter air and let the world turn without you. You can say hello to Mary's Sheep, meet Peter Rabbit & Family, see the Three Pigs, the Three Blind Mice and the Three Billy Goats Gruff, pet Eeyore the Donkey and Mulan the Cow (who jumped over the Moon--allegedly), and you'll also find more chickens, ducks and squirrels than you can count--but you can try to count them anyway. You can run the Crooked Mile again--and again--or explore King Arthur's Castle or try out Cinderella's Pumpkin Coach, or visit Robin Hood in the heart of Sherwood Forest or dance down the Yellow Brick Road--or live a hundred other childhood dreams in and around the 25 over-sized storybook playsets.
"We're very appreciative of the community that has embraced us for 50 years," says Kathy Fleming, Fairytale Town's Executive Director. "These are some of the ways we like to express that gratitude."
