In cooperation with Sacramento County Department of Regional Parks, Gibson Ranch, Recreation and Open Space, Rio Linda/Elverta Historical Society and the National Civil War Association presents our ninth annual Civil War Re-enactment.
Encompassing the entire park, approximately 600 re-enactors, horses, cannons, civilians, sutlers, and soldiers will bring the Civil War period of 1862 to life for our community. Roughly 5,500 people attended this event last year, and we hope to compete with the number of guests this year.
Several speakers, to include: Abraham Lincoln and Harriet Tubman. There will be songs and musical productions, as well as a period fashion show as part of the two-day event and a period church ceremony on Sunday morning. Characters of the period will be docents for the public and will be available from 7:00 to 9:00am for media interviews on Friday morning.
On Sunday, May 17th the Chaplain for the National Civil War Association will be holding a special non-denominational Church service at 10:00 in Civilian town. The service will be held in period attire and the public is invited to attend.
Battle Re-Enactments will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 16 and 17, twice daily.

Parking is included. You are permitted to bring food into the park or buy from our vendors. The seating is picnic style so bring blankets to sit on.
On Saturday May 16th, we are holding a celebration dinner for Abraham Lincoln’s 200th birthday. Festivities will include dancing, music, dinner, and a special presentation from Abe, himself. Tickets for the dinner are $40.00 and includes admittance to Saturday’s last battle re-enactment. Corporate packages are available. Call for information.
