You may have noticed a change when driving by Trinity Life Center, Madison Avenue at Hillsdale Boulevard. The parking lots have been resurfaced, the trees trimmed, the planters rejuvenated, the sprinklers working, as well as a lot of fresh paint. And that is just on the outside of the building. Inside, the kitchen is being remodeled; and soon, the sanctuary will be spruced up with new carpet and other necessary updates.

What is happening in the lives of the people, however, is what is the most significant aspect of developments at Trinity, according to Pastor Glen D. Cole. The pastor, since May 18, 2008, came out of retirement to see what could be done to revive a ministry that had dropped off to just over 100 in attendance and mounting bills, to now averages in excess of 800 per Sunday morning, along with a complete turnaround in the finances. “There is a new excitement in the air,” says Pastor Cole, “and the people continue to respond to visionary leadership. One of our goals is to fill a sanctuary that can hold over two thousand people.”

Pastor Cole was the leader of Capital Christian Center on Highway 50 for over seventeen years. He became the District Superintendent for the Northern California/Nevada District Council of the Assemblies of God and served for seven years in that capacity. He and his wife, Mary Ann, were looking forward to a more relaxed schedule of ministry and a bit less of the “daily” when Trinity called. “We just knew that God was in this,” said the pastor. It certainly does appear that way with the changes that are happening there. The church has added a radio program on Saturdays, aired on KFIA, 710 AM, at 8:30 pm.

Trinity Christian School and Trinity Life Bible College continue to operate on the church campus throughout the week. You may visit Trinity Life Center’s 10 am worship service on Sunday, as well as the “Chapter by Chapter Through the New Testament” studies each Wednesday at 7 pm, led by Pastor Cole.

The big word that has become a part of Trinity’s new thrust is “Connections”. In the pastor’s words, “The better connected we are to God and each other, the greater the impact in the world. Without a connection to God, we are powerless. Without a connection with each other, we are weak.” Things seem to be “connecting” these days at Trinity!
