Community: people coming together for a common purpose in unity. Bryan Sapp says that this definition of the word community also sums up the primary goal of Family Books & Gifts, the North Highlands’ Christian bookstore he has managed for the past two years.
Family Books & Gifts has been servicing the North Highlands and surrounding communities for ten years as of this summer! Many of you may have been involved in one or more of the community activities that Family Books & Gifts has sponsored during those years.
Every fall, the communities serviced by Family Books & Gifts look forward to the annual Drive-in Movie held in the Family Community Church parking lot behind the store. Just like the real drive-in movie theaters that are all but extinct, participants watch a family-oriented film from the comforts of their vehicle, tuning in via the radio. Just last month, Family Books & Gifts hosted the box office hit “Fireproof” which is billed as the number one Inspirational film.
If you haven’t had the opportunity yet to participate in any of their family events, have no fear. 2009 promises to give you that opportunity with exciting happenings such as: the annual Princess Tea Party, April 24th and Hero Night, TBA shortly thereafter; as well as some special activities planned to celebrate Family Books & Gifts’ 10th year actively serving our communities.
All of the Family Books & Gifts sponsored events offer participants the opportunity to enter into drawings for great prizes such as DVDs, books, gift baskets and much more. There is always a Snack Bar open, as well, with fantastic deals on hot dogs, nachos, burgers, popcorn, candy and usually something that fits in with the activity of the evening such as princess cupcakes or dirt dessert filled with gummy worms! These activities offer great, affordable ways to enjoy good, clean family fun!!
The GiGi® Princess Tea Party features the latest release of GiGi® God’s Little Princess movie, real tea (for Mom) and pink lemonade served in fine china tea cups with tasty treats that all princesses are accustomed to having, all set in a beautifully decorated tea “garden”. Ladies ages 3 and up are invited to attend.
Hero Nights are also a hit, where little mighty men have dressed up as their favorite heroes such as Spiderman, Superman, Bibleman and even Daddy! These events are designed for boys & men, ages 3 and up, but Mom can come, too (even though she is technically a girl).
Family Books & Gifts is a non-denominational Christian store that offers several specialized services such as same-day imprinting on Bibles, gift wrapping, personal shopping and custom gift baskets. They endorse all of the items they carry in the store, and believe in and stand behind their products. Family Books & Gifts specializes in the gifts the community is looking for. Whether you are looking for something for your organization or just the right thing for your friends and family, Family Books & Gifts is the place to go.
Family Books & Gifts has a large selection of Bibles; inspirational cards, fiction and non-fiction and self-help books; inspirational art and décor for your home or office; jewelry; clothing; toys and inspirational items geared specifically for your children. Communion articles, rosaries, choir robes and music to suit every palette are also available.
Family Books & Gifts offers specialty gift items that inspire hope. They also participate as a sponsor in hope-inspiring activities such as the Community Weight Loss Challenge where more than 100 members of our communities are being inspired to improve the quality of their lives by making smarter choices for themselves and their families.
Do some “hope inspiring” of your own! Stop by the store and pick up something to brighten the day for you, a family member, friend or co-worker! Bryan and the other members of the friendly staff look forward to seeing you soon.
