Attendance is anticipated to top 1,000 river enthusiasts and their families. A FREE family-friendly event that includes gear swap and sales, outdoor/gear vendors, safe boating seminars, movies, live auction, music, food, and games. The event gets bigger and bigger each year. Come early for the best deals!
Where: Sacramento Waldorf School in Fair Oaks, overlooking the American River (3750 Bannister Road, Fair Oaks)
Why: “California’s rivers are not only the source of recreation for boaters, they also are the source of clean drinking water for California communities,” said Katharyn McLearan, communications director for Friends of the River. “It is fitting that this year’s Festival takes place on the banks of the American River, which is one of the top recreational rivers in the country and a popular urban oasis for families, as well as the source of drinking water for Sacramento and the Bay Area.”
