The Ora Linda All Breeds Horse Club (OLAB) was very active in the Rio Linda area in the 1970's and 1980's. Members participated in horse shows, parades, awards banquets, Christmas caroling on horseback, and trial rides for fun and charity.
The color guard showed at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, and members put on riding demonstrations at Cal Expo. Club members were also very involved in the planning and building of Rio Linda’s horse arena.
The past few years former OLAB members have held reunions. The next one will be a no host lunch at noon, March 8, at Hometown Buffet, Watt Ave. and U Street, North Highlands.
This will be a very special reunion as an OLAB memory book is in the works and everyone is encouraged to contribute their special OLAB memories and photos for inclusion in the book. Information is also needed on OLAB’s founding members, deceased members, members who have moved away, anything OLAB.
There will be a sample copy of the OLAB memory book on display, and it is shaping up as a work of art.
