We’ve been following the progress of the NSN Staff during their “Getting in Shape for Summer and Beyond.” If you recall, they decided to join the Community Weight Loss Challenge. In addition to getting the latest and greatest update about their successes, we are going to hear some of their feedback on the challenge.

“Being a part of the Community Weight Loss Challenge has helped keep me on track with eating right. Granted we (the NSN staff) started our quest for a healthier lifestyle a month earlier, joining the Weight Loss Challenge has actually made it a lot easier. Without a doubt, the most important aspect of this program for me is the accountability. Knowing that I must write down everything I eat and get weighed every week makes me think twice about eating that candy bar or having a second helping of lasagna!

Through the interesting and informative classes, the underlying message that is coming across loud and clear is that this is about more than just losing pounds. This is about making wise choices that will affect our life throughout our tomorrows. I now realize that I need to work on lifestyle changes? The first two classes of the WLC have not been about depriving myself of anything. It has been about making smarter choices about what I am currently eating.

We, the NSN staff are 11 weeks into this, and the staff does look thinner!

Here are the stats:

Milly has lost 13 pounds and 10.75 inches.
John (went to a family reunion) and still lost another inch in his waist!
Emily has lost 10 pounds and 7 inches.
Shannon just began the program and lost 12.6 pounds!
Please join us for the challenge. Community businesses like Umpqua Bank, Bel Air in Antelope, KCRA 3, Total Image Salon on Watt Avenue, and many more other businesses are jumping on board to be a part of this Community wide challenge to help others to live healthier and feel better about themselves. Curves in Antelope & Fitness 19 have generously donated a free week to their respective facility for every participant.

Our participants are already losing weight and feeling great! Rob H from North Highlands lost 15 pounds his first week and 9 his second for a total of 24 pounds! Needless to say, he is motivated. The total Wednesday night group alone has lost an accumulative 115 pounds in just two weeks! What have you got to lose? Rather, how much have you got to lose?
