Thank you to all of the folks who came out to the North Sacramento News (formerly the North Highlands News) Press Party! Summertime heat, luau themed games like the limbo and tropical drinks from Juice It Up were the perfect setting to give away a total of 3 Keep it Cool Splash Passes! Raging Waters passes and Marble Slab ice cream were included for the whole family. Of course the real cause for celebration was the launch of our new name! The event, hosted by KCRA 3’s Adrienne Bankert was held in front of Les Schwab on Walerga Road welcoming neighbors from our growing delivery area: throughout North Highlands, Foothill Farms, Antelope, Rio Linda, Elverta, Pleasant Grove and McClellan. (can you name all of our delivery areas by memory??)
Tasty food was available from Wingstop with delicious flavors of hot wings (I recommend the honey barbecue!) After picking up a plate party goers were able to wander over to the “Biggest Loser” Community Weight Loss Challenge which started this June. (There’s nothing like a little self indulgence before staring a diet and exercise plan. ) So far they already have 100 people signed up!
Food wasn’t the only attraction of the party; there were plenty of prizes for the winners of various contests which took place including a limbo contest for the kids. You couldn’t have predicted how popular the hula hoop contest would be! Youth and adults tried to swing a plastic hoop around their hip – and the under 12 age group was definitely the most impressive – with some tweens ‘hooping it up for over 10 minutes straight!
All American Speedway displayed their sweet rides; drivers came out to meet fans, answer questions, and take some pictures. Our gracious hosts at Les Schwab gave away prizes including a number of free tire balance and rotation gift certificates and a very cool emergency road side kit. They even had some freshly popped popcorn for anyone who wandered inside. A special thank you to all of our other sponsors including Bill McAnally Racing and Phoenix Schools who provided giveaways and games for the kids!! It’s always great to see all of our community partners and advertisers!
It’s also great to make many more community connections – like we did by beginning delivery in Elverta, Rio Linda and Antelope. We look forward to the many smiling faces we’ll see at the next Press Party – which will be even bigger and better than ever! Details to come in our next issue – stay tuned for September…
