As our district schools begin the second semester of the year, we will continue to concentrate our efforts to maintain quality educational programs while working within the framework of a tight budget. As with every other school district in the state, we look ahead to more positive economic times; however, we are determined not to lose sight of the reason we are here: to further the educational experiences of our students and to enrich our community through those efforts.

The CJUSD Board of Trustees will be meeting in January (January 6 and January 20) at Antelope View Charter School to discuss important issues regarding our budget situation for next year. We encourage you to attend. With input from our community, we know we will make the right decisions that will allow us to continue to provide programs that will help our students to continue to be successful in all of their efforts. We are especially pleased with our elementary schools’ success in last year’s STAR testing and hope to see that success again in the spring. Center High School, in the meantime, continues to excel with over 90% of sophomores passing the California High School Exit Exam.
