In November, the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors accepted $5,364,600 in federal stimulus funds from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program. The EECBG funds will help Sacramento County move forward with plans to adopt sustainable energy solutions including: building energy audits; building retrofits; the development and implementation of green building codes; and the creation of financial incentive programs and rebates for energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements.

I am very excited and pleased to have the EECBG funds released to Sacramento County. These funds will give us the ability to measurably improve energy efficiency. We will benefit from reduced energy bills for our residents, the creation of hundreds of clean energy jobs and the environmental benefits in our community.
