Mark Telles - Center High School
Mark Telles is a senior at Center High School and an outstanding young man on the Varsity Basketball Team. His commitment and dedication during the off-season and during the current season has been exceptional. Mark stands only 5 foot 4 inches, but what he lacks in height, he makes up with heart, his competitive spirit, and his intelligence. Mark understands his role on the team, so when he steps on the basketball court, he communicates with his teammates and leads by example. Mark is a big piece of the puzzle in the men’s basketball program at Center High School.
Mark is also an outstanding student with a current 3.4 Grade Point Average . Some of his core classes include Economics, Spanish 3, and AP Calculus. Mark is contemplating on attending Sacramento State University next fall and working towards a degree in Business Marketing.
Solomone Kafu - Rio Linda High School
Solomone Kafu is a senior at Rio Linda High School . Solomone is 6’4, 305 and started both ways as an offensive and defensive tackle. "Solo" showed outstanding leadership and was elected by his peers as a team captain. He has a 3.44 GPA taking AP and honor courses. He is working on becoming an Eagle Scout and is active in his church. Solomone was selected as a first team All CVC defensive lineman, voted by the coaches as the CVC "Lineman of the Year", selected as a second team All Metro offensive lineman, and was selected to play in the Holiday Classic All-Star Game. Solomone is being recruited by several colleges to play football. He is interested in architecture and engineering.
