The Pac-Pride Student Leadership Team is honored to adopt the students of Frederick C. Joyce Elementary School. Under the guidelines of Multiple Education Content Standards for California Public Schools – kindergarten through grade six, including preschool, Pac-Pride students will mentor individuals and/or small groups to meet course curriculum that reflects expectations of academic and social competence.
Pac-Pride mentors will collaborate with F.C. Joyce faculty and students through the use of effective interpersonal communication skills that includes decision-making and goal-setting in support of classroom instruction. In addition, Pac-Pride mentors will promote collaborative engagement, reflective learning, and enhanced intrapersonal communication skills for all students of F.C. Joyce Elementary School.
The Pac-Pride Student Leadership team has elected this adoption in order to promote a positive and respectful environment at school and in the community. In return, student mentors will gain important employability skills that require the following:
· reliability to adhere to all district and site policies
· honor to wear appropriate dress and Leadership identification
· responsibility to an assigned class of students and instructor
· dedication to a minimum of one hour of community service every Wednesday between the hours of 12:50 - 2:50, not to exceed two hours total
· integrity to track monthly service hours through signed and dated timecards
· commitment to consistent mentorship from November 4, 2009 - May 26, 2010
