I am all for searching the web for discounts and coupons, if it’s not TOO MUCH WORK!! If you’ve never gone on a coupon hunt it's ok, it's not the end of the world. I, too, am a rookie. But in researching others who have made nearly a second job out of it, it can really benefit your bottom line.

ALL- A -TWITTER for Coupons online –Tweeting is the hip thing to do, but it can also be the cheap thing to do when you’re looking for internet sales and discounts. Here are some hot brands and stores to look out for on the twitter.com site:

NATIONAL BRANDS
Amazon: Find hot bargains via tweets with the Lighting Deal and Deal of the Day
Best Buy: The also will provide customer service and help with gift ideas.
Kmart: Friends & Family events and “Blue Light Specials”.
Staples: Look out for Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals.
Target: Every day at 7 a.m. look for a tweeted “Daily Deal”.
Toys r Us: Deal of the Day is tweeted each day (toys reduced 35-40% or more), as well as the status of the Black Friday ads.

Deal Forums
Cheaptweet.com: You’ll find deals, coupons and tips, including a promo code for JCPenny where you get 10$ off any 10$ or more purchase through December 18th! WOW
DealTaker.com Find hot deals in various categories. Plus, their new CouponBot will even fetch coupons for you from Twitter.
Savings.com: Find coupons, gift guides and giveaways.
Slickdeals.com: Lists the item, price, and store/coupon link.

BEST LOCAL SITE TO BOOKMARK: bountynsavings.com
Underrated (and a little unappreciative, considering I tried contacting her and no reply!) and lesser known than some of the other “mommy blogs”, this site is very true to the area of Sacramento and Davis. I’ll forgive her for not responding to my emails. She’s probably out shopping!

I believe she lives in Davis, but blogger Lee Yeung is very practical with her coupon clipping, preferring to “show and prove” when it comes to her shopping prowess. She will even scan her receipts to show how much she DIDN’T pay. From diapers to dish soap, the woman is good at combining the online ads with the Sunday newspaper cut outs. Want to know who has the best price on produce? She compares stores to local farmer’s markets and gets the best deal.

TEXT COUPONS
Would you like coupons sent to your phone via text message? There is a great deal on a buy-one-get-one-free Coldstone ice cream at the Roseville and Natomas locations through December 18th. (Especially crucial since the Antelope Marble Slab closed ... I’m crushed!) Just log on to: www.hookupfeed.com

You simply press the phone icon and the coupon is sent to your phone! They only release a certain number of offers and that’s it. But beware. I haven’t seen yet whether this site shares all of your data simply by entering your cell phone number.

DEEP…BUT NOT TOO DEEP
This week alone, I was able to find ways to eat free breakfast, lunch and dinner using web promotions and, so called, “mommy blogs”. But what this saves you in money could slay you in time consumption and precious minutes of our day better spent else where are impossible to redeem.

However, there is a satisfaction in being able to save money with very little effort! And it is more fun to share those kinds of cost savings with your family and friends. Still, be prepared to invest something for this savvy way to shop.
