As the seasons change, watering schedules should change, too. Cooler weather means lawns and landscapes need less water. Even in hot summer months, three days a week is generally sufficient for established landscapes.

Below are simple ways you can “water with the weather” and make the best use of our region’s water resources.

Adjust irrigation timers to gradually reduce outdoor watering. As the season changes, reset your timers to water every other day or less. During rainy months, you may be able to turn off your irrigation timer altogether.

Avoid unnecessary watering by turning your irrigation system off when it rains. Better yet, install a rain sensor to automatically switch off your system when it’s raining.

Thank you for your water conservation efforts. Every drop counts!
