Sacramento, CA – There’s no better time to treat yourself to a world of flavor and learn how to better your body this spring with the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op (SNFC). Presenting a bounty of seasonal cooking, health and lifestyle classes for kids, adults and seniors to choose from during the second quarter of the year, SNFC offers classes through their Community Learning Center & Cooking School, located at 1914 Alhambra Blvd., next to the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op. (At 1900 Alhambra at the corner of Alhambra and S Streets)

Additionally, the SNFC will offer a variety of FREE In Store events this spring designed to introduce new flavors, sample products and services into a healthy consumer lifestyle.

For more than 30 years, SNFC has grown to become the second largest natural food cooperative in the U.S. and a trusted regional resource for natural and organic foods, products and information. The Co-op’s vision is to provide the benefits of natural foods and products, economic cooperation and sustainable practices to as many people as possible in the communities it serves. The Co-op also provides financial assistance to area organic farmers to help them obtain certified organic grower status through their Adopt-A-Farm Program.

Introduction to 5-Rhythms Dance

Dance your heart out in this free-form no-steps-to-learn moving meditation. Enjoy being guided into the basics of a practice that will connect you with your body and with a great community that meets locally on a regular basis. Chair Yoga

In this class, we will do exercises that are based on time-tested yoga principles modified for anyone to practice. You will be able to stretch your major muscles, loosen joints, improve your balance and learn breathing techniques that will reduce discomfort and pain. Most of the exercises will be done either sitting in or otherwise using a chair.

Green Home Workshop
Saturday, June 20, 2:30-5:30 pm
$10 Donation benefits the Shriners Childrens Hospital
This workshop, taught by a LEED accredited professional, is a whole-home approach to increasing energy efficiency and utilizing alternative energy. We will discuss how to evaluate your home's energy usage and apply strategies like insulation, weatherization, lighting, and solar energy. We will also go over federal, state and utility incentives that you can take advantage of to start living greener.

Preventing Osteoporosis Through Diet
