Approximately 300 boys and girls from the Twin Rivers Unified School District and surrounding
areas competed May 9 in the Hershey’s Track & Field Games at the Rio Linda High School
Stadium, 6309 Dry Creek Road, Rio Linda.
Events included the 50 meter dash, 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 800
meter run, 1600 meter run, 4 x 100 meter relay, standing long jump, and softball throw. Winners now
advance to the Nor-Cal State meet on Saturday, June 20, 2009, in San Jose.
Nor-Cal State meet winners will not automatically advance to Hershey’s North American Final.
They will be entered in a regional pool and become eligible for selection to a regional team
which will travel to Hershey, PA., to compete in the North American Final Aug. 1, 2009. All
regional winners will qualify for the North American Final Meet.
Hershey’s Track & Field Games are designed to encourage physical fitness among youth and
emphasize participation and sportsmanship. The games involve millions of youngsters from all
50 states, the District of Columbia and the 10 provinces and 3 territories of Canada.
