Water-guzzling toilets are the single-largest consumer of water in a typical home. Replacing a high-flush toilet with a high-efficiency toilet (HET), that uses 1.28 gallons per flush, can save up to 4,000 gallons of water per year.
Sacramento Suburban Water District (SSWD) offers rebates up to $175 for eligible customers to replace old toilets with HETs. Commercial customers can receive rebates of up to $200 for commercial HET models.
If you are a SSWD customer, find out more about the rebate program by logging on to www.sswd.org or call 916.972.7171.
If you are unsure who your water service provider is, please call the Be Water Smart Hotline at: 1-888-WTR-TIPS (1-888-987-8477) for assistance. Many water providers offer similar toilet rebates.
